Scholarship Syllabus

Platon, supporting a love of learning, progress, and the balanced development of body and mind, is offering this year: 

16 Study Scholarships 

14 Academic & 2 Athletic (basketball) 

14 Academic Scholarships are available to students who, in the next academic year 2026–2027, will attend 1st Grade of Middle School, 1st Grade of High School, 2nd Grade of High School, and IB Diploma Year 1, students currently completing 6th Grade of Primary School, 3rd Grade of Middle School, and 1st Grade of High School. 

Specifically, the Academic Scholarships are: 

  • Up to 1 full and 4 partial scholarships for 1st Grade Middle school (MYP)  
  • Up to 1 full and 2 partial scholarships for 1st Grade High School (MYP)  
  • Up to 3 full scholarships for 2nd Grade High School:  
  • Humanities track: up to 1 full  
  • Economics & Computer Science track: up to 1 full  
  • Science track: up to 1 full  
  • Up to 1 full and 2 partial scholarships for IB Diploma Year 1  

Athletic (basketball) scholarships: 

  • Up to 2 full scholarships for 1st Grade High School

 

Exam Subjects 

Candidates will be examined as follows: 

  • For 1st Grade Middle school: Mathematics and Greek Language (for the Greek program), plus English (for the bilingual program)  
  • For 1st Grade High School: Mathematics and Greek Language (for the Greek program), plus English (for the bilingual program)  
  • For 2nd Grade High School: Greek Language and, depending on specialization:  
  • Ancient Greek (Humanities)  
  • Mathematics (Economics & Computer Science)  
  • Mathematics and Physics (Science)  
  • For the IB Diploma: English Language and Literature, Mathematics, and Humanities & Sciences  

Candidates with the highest scores—above 18.5 for full scholarships and above 17 for partial scholarships—will be invited to a personal interview. 

For bilingual programs, ranking will be determined based on performance in Greek Language and Mathematics. English performance will also be considered to assess the student’s ability to meet the demands of the bilingual program. 

On the day of the exams, candidates must bring an ID card, passport, or official identification certificate issued by a municipality or Citizens’ Service Center (KEP). 

Students wishing to be examined orally must send an official certification from recognized public bodies via email to lykeio@platon.gr by May 3, 2026, at 14:30. 

 

Scholarship Duration 

Scholarships are maintained: 

  • For 1st Grade Gymnasium students: throughout Middle school  
  • For 1st and 2nd Grade Lyceum students: throughout High school  
  • For IB Diploma: for both years  

Under the following conditions: 

  • 1st Grade Gymnasium: grade above 18 for partial, and Excellent for full scholarship  
  • 1st Grade Lyceum: grade above 17.5 for partial, and Excellent for full scholarship  
  • 2nd and 3rd Grade Lyceum:  
  • Above 17 in each specialization subject for partial  
  • Above 18.5 in each specialization subject for full  
  • IB Diploma: total score above 34 for partial and above 36 for full  
  • Excellent conduct for all levels  
  • Timely payment of tuition installments with no overdue balances  

 

Applications for Participation in Exams 

To participate, candidates must complete the application form by May 3, 2026, at 14:30, after paying a fee of €30 to the account listed below, stating the student’s full name and the word “Scholarships” as the payment reference. Proof of payment must be sent to lykeio@platon.gr. 

Note: The €30 participation fee is fully covered by the School for Platon students. 

 

General Notes 

  • Candidates’ conduct and overall profile will play a decisive role in selection.  
  • If a student has already been granted another academic scholarship, award, or discount, only the one with the highest percentage will apply. Discounts are not cumulative.  
  • Transportation costs, additional study fees, bilingual program fees, educational trips, MYP and DP exam fees, materials/uniforms, meal services, and any expenses beyond basic tuition are not included in the scholarships.
