Information bears no value when separated from a set of educational goals which also encompasses “approaches to learning” skills. In PLATON School ATL skills and their respective sub-skills are key elements in designing learning engagements. Thus, all activities organized for our students aim at developing:
- Thinking skills
- Research skills
- Communication skills
- Social skills
- Self-management skills
These skills link together all PYP elements and combined with the IB learner profile attributes make students “self-efficient” and provide them with all they need to achieve the Programme’s ultimate goal: “agency”!
Children set goals and inquire; they become motivated and persistent; they experiment. They are actually able to assess themselves and adjust the learning process to their needs while being actively engaged in it.
