The teachers of the programme possess outstanding teaching and scientific skills and are constantly being trained in educational seminars. Also, they participate in the University entrance Exams as assessors and are authors of many reference books for our students. All these guarantee the effective implementation of the programme.
More teaching hours.
Our programme offers more teaching hours of all the subjects for the Pan-hellenic exams. These hours are more than those stated by the Greek Ministry or offered by the various ‘frontistiria’. These extra hours are carefully embedded in our morning and early-afternoon programme, so that students can subsequently return home to get some rest, study and assimilate the new material.
The entire programme is available to our students only at a small extra cost, additionally to the annual fees. The overall expenditure amounts to approximately 25% of what ‘frontistiria’ usually charge, let alone private lessons. Therefore, it is quite clear that Platon School presents a pioneering, effective curriculum for the General Lyceum, which respects candidates and their parents and lays the foundations for their future success.
Constant improvement and development.
To remain successful and effective, such a programme needs to be continually enriched, renewed and developed. For this reason, we intend to stay in close contact with you, listen to your concerns and observations with the aim of making ourselves better. Our Lyceum Intensive programme is a clearly defined path, starting at A Lyceum and leading all the way up to the University.
Hence, in view of the impending changes in the curriculum for A Lyceum, we are organizing a summer tuition programme, to cover the teaching material for all the subjects needed for the University Entrance Exams. Even though the Ministry of Education has not officially announce the beginning of the new system, we are already prepared the framework so that we can implement it efficiently and promptly.
Our Lyceum Programme is linked to the after-school tutoring classes offered to students in C class of Junior High School , so as to have students with the least possible weaknesses. All our students are taught with innovative, communicative methods according to MYP specifications. An example of our pioneering work is the adoption and implementation of the Personal Project for the students of A Lyceum within the educational framework of MYP, long before it was introduced in the General Lyceum. Ms Tsangari, who is in charge of this Project, has been especially trained for it in an international MYP seminar, training in turn all the other teachers involved.
In conclusion, our School provides a well-managed, responsible and friendly environment for our students.
